With National Signing Day quickly approaching, BadgerBlitz.com takes a look back at Wisconsin's safety recruiting over the last five years during Paul Chryst's tenure.

CLASS OF 2017

After some of Wisconsin's initial targets in this class come off the board - Jonathan Sutherland (Penn State), Jaylen Kelly-Powell (Michigan) and Damani Neal (Duke), among others - Scott Nelson emerged as the top priority in the fall of 2016. The three-star prospect chose UW over Iowa, Michigan State, Penn State and Northwestern. Nelson has started 12 games during his career at UW. Tyler Mais was also part of this cycle as a preferred walk-on.
