From Jack Coan
"It was just the feeling when I got there," Coan told BadgerBlitz.com. "Right from the beginning I felt like it was the place. Everybody talks about how I would go to a college and I would get that feeling. Talking to the whole coaching staff, I really liked them and they’re a bunch of great people. I could see myself playing for them.
"Coach Chryst talked about how much I fit into their system, how he coaches the quarterbacks, and how many quarterbacks he’s put into the NFL," Coan said. "He’s a great person, a genuinely nice person."
From the Coach (Robert Hoss)
"A lot of the stuff they were talking about was similar to what we're doing at the high school level," Hoss, who added that Coan will enroll early at Wisconsin, said. "Clearly the verbiage is different and much more advanced at Wisconsin, but there was a comfort level with the way they coach. Coach Chryst was very honest: It's a pro-style system and they want a pro-style quarterback, but they want to be a bit more diversified and they don't want a statue back there. Jack has great athletic ability and gives Wisconsin some options to go in the (shot)gun and do some read-type stuff. They're going to give Jack the ability to use his strengths and that makes it harder for a defense to prepare for."
From the Expert
Rivals.com recruiting analyst Adam Friedman: "I really like the way Coan fits into Wisconsin's scheme. He has gotten much stronger over the past year and has really filled out his frame. Coan is also much more athletic and much tougher than people give him credit for. He could end up being classified as a dual-threat quarterback before all is said and done.
"As a passer, Coan has good arm strength and is very accurate with the football. I like his quick release and ability to throw his receiver open. Coan also has a high football IQ and he should be able to pick up the offense very quickly."
