The scrimmage itself seemed to be a pretty back-and-forth affair. Alex Hornibrook rebounded a bit after a rough practice on Thursday and led three touchdown drives, with Bradrick Shaw finding the end zone once and Chris James scoring twice. Hornibrook also led a field goal drive to lead off the practice, and Rafael Gaglianone was 2-for-3 on field goals with one kick that was too low and got blocked at the line.
Jack Coan got the second series during the scrimmage, with Kare' Lyles leading the fourth series that ended with Gaglianone's blocked kick. Lyles' second drive ended in a field goal by Gaglianone, though. Of the two it was a little hard to make a big distinction between them - Coan is obviously still learning the offense (and took two sacks during the scrimmage), and both passers have had snap issues with their offensive line so far during camp. We'll see if they can keep making progress during the spring - the battle for the backup job behind Hornibrook could get heated as we move towards the season.
