Over the next two weeks, BadgerBlitz.com will be bringing you snapshots for each recruited position, covering the targets who are legitimate prospects on Wisconsin's board in the 2019 class. We will discuss the candidates who are most interested in the Badgers, as well as those who are considered long shots to commit to UW.
As always, this is just a snapshot in time and things remain fluid. Additional offered targets will appear over the next few months and some recruits will inevitably choose other colleges.
Today, we continue with a look at the defensive ends.
Quick Position Breakdown
With seniors Chikwe Obasih, Alec James and Conor Sheehy set to play their final game at Wisconsin on Saturday night in the Orange Bowl, plenty of questions surround the defensive end position heading into 2018. There's a lot to like about current redshirt freshman Isaiahh Loudermilk, who can probably be penciled in as a starter next season, if healthy. But behind him, redshirt sophomores David Pfaff and Kraig Howe haven't been able to crack the rotation, while redshirt junior Billy Hirschfeld's status with the team remains unclear moving forward. Youngsters Aaron Vopal and Keldric Preston, along with intriguing walk-ons Matt Henningsen and Michael Balistreri, will be given every opportunity to make a move up the depth chart this spring, with 2018 signees Isaiah Mullens and Boyd Dietzen arriving this summer.
