Over the next two weeks, BadgerBlitz.com will be bringing you snapshots for each recruited position, covering the targets who are legitimate prospects on Wisconsin's board in the 2019 class. We will discuss the candidates who are most interested in the Badgers, as well as those who are considered long shots to commit to UW.
As always, this is just a snapshot in time and things remain fluid. Additional offered targets will appear over the next few months and some recruits will inevitably choose other colleges.
Today, we continue with a look at the defensive tackles.
Quick Position Breakdown
Though it wasn't an issue, Wisconsin was thin at defensive tackle this fall after Jeremy Patterson elected to transfer. Junior Olive Sagapolu handled the bulk of the work inside with sophomore Garrett Rand behind him. Help is coming this spring with the addition of 2018 signee Bryson Williams, who should be able to contribute as a true freshman. It will be interesting to see if his arrival will allow Rand, who is undersized 6-foot-2 and 272 pounds, to move over and compete for a starting spot at end in 2018. With coordinator Jim Leonhard using packages that, at times, include just two down linemen, the Badgers will likely look to take just one nose guard in the 2019 cycle.
