Richie Hagarty, a projected outside linebacker in the 2019 class, caught the attention of position coach Tim Tibesar at Wisconsin's first summer camp last weekend.

A 6-foot-3, 215-pound junior-to-be from Cathedral High School in Indiana, Hagarty was in Madison last Friday for his first visit to UW.

"The Wisconsin camp went very well," Hagarty said. "It was a very good camp and well put together. I received very good feedback from the coaches. Coach Tibesar talked to me about coming back for a game in the fall and I definitely plan on doing that.

"Coach Tibesar really liked my size and speed along with talking about the upcoming high school season and position placement."

Prior to the camp, Hagarty, who has an early offer from Northern Arizona, was able to tour the campus and facilities at Wisconsin.

"Before the camp I took a tour of their facilities with a few other prospects," Hagarty said. "They have a very nice weight room and football field - just high energy all around. I was very impressed with how they utilize the facilities for football players with education resources strictly for them.

"I feel very good about Wisconsin. I felt welcomed and comfortable in Wisconsin's environment."

Outside of UW, Hagarty is hearing from a handful of other schools.

"Right now I'm hearing the most from Michigan State, Penn State and Louisville," Hagarty said. "I will be attending Indiana tomorrow (Friday) along with the Irish Invasion at Notre Dame this Saturday and Sunday.

"Boston College, Penn State, Cincinnati and Michigan State will be soon this month as well."
