1. What's the status of Jonathan Taylor
There are injury questions across the board - D'Cota Dixon, Chris James, Chikwe Obasih, Danny Davis, Austin Ramesh, etc. - but the big question mark looms over Jonathan Taylor (left leg), who left Wisconsin's win over Illinois in the first half. The true freshman, who came into Saturday's contest averaging 168.5 yards per game, rushed just 12 times for 73 yards before having his afternoon cut short.
The Badgers certainly weren't explosive on the ground with Taylor on the sidelines. Garrett Groshek (12 carries for 51 yards) and Bradrick Shaw (12 carries for 40 yards) carried the load, and those two will be expected to do the same if Taylor can't go against Indiana.
2. Where will Wisconsin open Tuesday?
Before Saturday rolls around, Wisconsin fans will be curious to see where the College Football Playoff Selection Committee has the Badgers in its first rankings, which is set to be released Tuesday on ESPN. UW is currently No. 4 in the updated Amway Coaches Poll, but due to their strength of schedule (or lack thereof), a spot in the No. 6 to 8 range is probably more realistic. Alabama and Georgia are probably locks for the No. 1 and 2 spots, respectively, but it will be interesting to see where things stack up beyond.
3. Is this the week Indiana wins a close game ?
The Hoosiers are currently 3-5 on the season and 0-4 in Big Ten play. But their last three losses to Michigan, Michigan State and Maryland were by a combined 18 points. Indiana is struggling to run the ball and currently ranks 12th in the conference in that department at 123.9 yards per game. On the flip side, Wisconsin ranks second in stopping the run at 93.8 yards per contest.
4. Can Wisconsin clean up the penalties?
Wisconsin currently ranks No. 62 in the country in fewest penalty yards per game (5.8 per game). In 2016, the Badgers ranked second nationally in fewest penalties per game with 3.4. This is certainly an area where UW can improve upon.
5. Will Alex Hornibrook end his interception streak?
After going 18 for 19 for 256 yards and four touchdowns against BYU, quarterback Alex Hornibrook has thrown at least one interception in the last five contests. The redshirt sophomore has eight on the season, which is third in the conference behind Nebraska's Tanner Lee (10) and Northwestern's Clayton Thorson (9).
The Badgers' defense has been able to minimize the damage caused by turnovers, but will it come back to bite Wisconsin later in the season?
