Over the next two weeks, BadgerBlitz.com will be bringing you snapshots for each recruited position, covering the targets who are legitimate prospects on Wisconsin's board in the 2019 class. We will discuss the candidates who are most interested in the Badgers, as well as those who are considered long shots to commit to UW.
As always, this is just a snapshot in time and things remain fluid. Additional offered targets will appear over the next few months and some recruits will inevitably choose other colleges.
Today, we continue with a look at the running backs.
Quick Breakdown
Wisconsin is well stocked at the running position, something that has allowed the coaching staff to target one scholarship tailback in each recruiting class. Unless something changes on the current roster, that will likely be the case in 2019.
When the summer of 2019 rolls around, Bradrick Shaw will be a senior - though there is certainly early NFL potential there - and Sam Brodner a junior, but his status is up in the air after he suffered a torn ACL in the spring game. Jonathan Taylor has a chance to play immediately this fall and 2018 commit Nakia Watson will have one year completed in the program. The staff is also very high on 2017 walk-on Hunter Johnson. That said, position coach John Settle will likely be looking for one back in 2019. He's been fairly selective thus far.
