Over the next two weeks, BadgerBlitz.com will be bringing you snapshots for each recruited position, covering the targets who are legitimate prospects on Wisconsin's board in the 2018 class. We will discuss the candidates who are most interested in the Badgers, as well as those who are considered long shots to commit to UW.
As always, this is just a snapshot in time and things remain fluid. Additional offered targets will appear over the next few months and some recruits will inevitably choose other colleges. These positional snapshots are meant to give the lay of the land with Signing Day for the 2017 class quickly approaching.
Today, we take a look at the safeties.

Quick Breakdown
Wisconsin signed three safeties in the 2016 class - Eric Burrell, Patrick Johnson and Seth Currens - but may close 2017 empty at the position unless they can secure a commitment from three-star senior Scott Nelson. Looking ahead, Joe Ferguson is the lone scholarship safety heading into his senior season and Wisconsin already has two commitments in the 2018 class from three-star prospects Reggie Pearson and Trent Ingalls. There's still a very long way to go, but that could be the Badgers' duo at safety in just over 13 months.
