Over the next two weeks, BadgerBlitz.com will be bringing you snapshots for each recruited position, covering the targets who are legitimate prospects on Wisconsin's board in the 2018 class. We will discuss the candidates who are most interested in the Badgers, as well as those who are considered long shots to commit to UW.

As always, this is just a snapshot in time and things remain fluid. Additional offered targets will appear over the next few months and some recruits will inevitably choose other colleges. These positional snapshots are meant to give the lay of the land with Signing Day for the 2017 class quickly approaching.

Today, we take a look at the defensive tackles.

QUARTERBACKS | RUNNING BACKS | TIGHT ENDS | OFFENSIVE LINEMEN | WIDE RECEIVERS | DEFENSIVE ENDS |

Quick Breakdown

You could make an argument that nose tackle is the most important position for Wisconsin in the 2018 recruiting class. Why? The Badgers are almost certainly not going to take a scholarship player at the position in the current senior class, though they do have commitments from preferred walk-ons Matt Henningsen and Michael Balistreri. And with just three scholarship nose tackles on the current roster - Olive Sagapolu, an undersized Garrett Rand and Jeremy Paterson, who was left off the travel roster a handful of times in 2016 - the staff must find at least one big, athletic body on the inside. When the dust settles, it wouldn't be surprising to see UW take two nose guards in 2018.
