Wisconsin's 2017 football season is right around the corner, but it's a little too early to make our official predictions about how their schedule will shake out.

So instead BadgerBlitz.com took a look through Wisconsin's 2017 slate and identified reasons for hope and reasons for concern each week. So no matter if you're bullish or bearish on Wisconsin this year, there's something for everybody this year.

MARYLAND (Oct. 21 - Madison, Wis.)

Cause for Hope

Maryland did make a bowl game last year, but those six wins weren't exactly inspiring - it beat Howard, FIU, UCF, Purdue, Michigan State and Rutgers. The rest of those contests weren't very close - they scored 36 points in a losing effort against Indiana, but no more than 14 in any of their other Big Ten games. Six starters are back from that offense, but they'll be breaking in a new quarterback after Perry Hills graduated. And again, having this game at home should help the Badgers - Maryland is just 1-8 in road games against Power 5 teams over the last two years.
