Wisconsin's 2018 in-state class doesn't feature a four-star prospect, but the group is extremely deep with over 19 Division 1 commitments as of July 1.
As we count down the days before the start of the 2017 high school football season, BadgerBlitz.com ranks the top seniors in the state, starting with prospects 46 through 50.
No. 50 - Athlete Brady Schipper
Offers: Augustana, Minnesota-Duluth and Bemidji State
The word: A multi-sport athlete from Stoughton, Brady Schipper has visited Wisconsin a handful of times and could be a preferred walk-on candidate in the 2018 class. Schipper has also taken trips to North Dakota and North Dakota State, among others.
No. 49 - Offensive lineman Jarrett Horst
Offers: Indiana State
The word: Offensive tackle Jarrett Horst of Middleton currently has one offer from Indiana State with interest coming from Western Michigan, Minnesota, South Dakota State, North Dakota State and Illinois State.
“I have the offer from Indiana State. I have been hearing from Western Michigan and Minnesota wants me to come up to a camp,” Horst told BadgerBlitz.com. “South Dakota State as well, and I am talking to Illinois State about coming out to a camp. Those have kind of been the biggest ones right now that want me to come out to a camp.
"North Dakota State wants me to go out to a camp, so I will probably go out there as well.”
No. 48 - Defensive end Cole Godbout
Interest from: Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota State, among others
The word: A WFCA honorable mention all-state selection as a junior, Cole Godbout, who had 91 tackles and seven sacks last fall, visited for Wisconsin's junior day this winter. He also camped with the Badgers in June.
"The visit went great," Godbout told BadgerBlitz.com. "We got a personal tour of the campus and we got to see the inside seen of what life would be like as a student athlete. The feedback was good - they told us what we will be expecting in the near future and treated us like we belong there."
No. 47 - Quarterback Ben Nimz
Interest from: North Dakota, North Dakota State, Bucknell, Dartmouth, Drake, Wyoming, Penn and Western Illinois, among others
The word: Ben Nimz, who threw for over 2,000 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior, was part of Catholic Memorial's undefeated state title team in 2016. With Nimz, CJ Goetz and Michael Naze, the Crusaders are a strong favorite to get back to Madison this fall.
No. 46 - Wide receiver Darquise Winters
Offers: Navy
The word: Darquise Winters has an offer from Navy with interest coming from Iowa, North Dakota State and Central Michigan, among others. He could play receiver or cornerback at the next level.
