Earlier this week, junior linebacker Leo Chenal revealed his decision to leave Wisconsin early in order to enter the 2022 NFL Draft.

Thursday afternoon, Leo's older brother, senior fullback John Chenal, announced he would also forego his final year of eligibility in order to pursue the professional ranks.

During his time at UW, Chenal, 6-foot-2 and 256 pounds, carved out a role on special teams as a true freshman. Over his next three years, the former walk-on played in 34 career games and made 12 starts at fullback. During his career, Chenal rushed for 228 yards and five touchdowns.

After Quan Easterling's decision to enter the transfer portal this fall, Chenal was the only fullback listed on Wisconsin's depth chart. This spring, Riley Nowakowski, a converted outside linebacker, is a candidate to work with the No. 1 offense. Cam Large (tight end), Marty Strey (outside linebacker) and Jackson Acker (tailback) are other options for position coach Gary Brown moving forward.

Former Wisconsin fullbacks Alec Ingold (Las Vegas) and Derek Watt (Pittsburgh) are currently on NFL rosters.
