Last fall, six members from Wisconsin's 2016 recruiting class - Garrett Rand, Quintez Cephus, Patrick Johnson, Anthony Lotti, Griffin Grady and A.J. Taylor - contributed as true freshmen. With solid depth across the board, will that number be larger or smaller in 2017?
Keeping that question in mind, BadgerBlitz.com takes a closer look at UW's 2017 class and makes some participation predictions.
Almost a lock
There likely isn't a scenario where Andrew Van Ginkel, a junior college transfer, doesn't play this season. He'll be fighting for a starting job with Garret Dooley, Leon Jacobs and Zack Baun, and will almost certainly be in the two-deep at outside linebacker this fall.
You don't take a scholarship long snapper unless you expect him to start from Day 1. And that will be the expectation for Adam Bay, whose only (listed) competition is Josh Bernhagen, a walk-on addition this spring.
