A 6-foot-3, 205-pound prospect, Stokke chose UW over offers from Iowa, Northern Illinois, Army, Buffalo and Western Illinois. He visited Madison unofficially Sunday.
"It feels great," Stokke told BadgerBlitz.com. "l've been a Badger fan since I've been little and it's been a dream come true. I visited last Sunday and really liked all the coaches and facilities and it was really cool be Badger fan. I thought the spring practice was really cool to watch and I liked all their facilities. The coaches were excited and very happy to hear I was committing."
Stokke, from Menomonie High School, joins a recruiting class for Wisconsin that already includes running back Antonio Williams, quarterback Kare' Lyles and defensive end Luke Benzschawel.
"I really like that they are good people very class acts," Stokke, a projected outside linebacker, said. "They like that I'm tough and hardworking.
"Wisconsin has a good winning tradition and have great coaches, facilities and a great education. I'm pretty much locked into Wisconsin."
Also a standout wrestler, Stokke, whose main recruiter at Wisconsin was Chris Haering, captured the Division 1 state title at 195 pounds this past season with a 44-0 mark.
"It was a really cool accomplishment," Stokke told Rivals.com when asked about his wrestling accomplishment. "It's something I've been working hard for and put a lot into it, so it's great to see it all pay off. I believe wrestling helps you tremendously with football."
Stokke is prep teammates with Iowa commit Nathan Stanley, whom the Badgers are still actively recruiting.
"Obviously I want him (Stanley) to come to Wisconsin but it's his decision," Stokke said.
