Sophomore PG Ethan Brittain-Watts receiving interest from Wisconsin

Earlier this month, the Wisconsin coaching staff hosted Ethan Brittain-Watts, a sophomore point guard from Culver Military Academy in Indiana.

Tuesday, assistant coach Howard Moore continued the recruiting process by watching the 6-foot, 160-pound prospect work out at his high school.

"I think Wisconsin is pretty interested," Brittain-Watts told BadgerBlitz.com. "I hope they are. I just have to keep working and the more and more interested they are depends on my progression as a student athlete."

With the 2017 class wrapped up and one scholarship remaining in the following cycle, the Badgers have been laying the groundwork in 2019. Big men Matthew Hurt and Nobal Days hold the two known offers thus far, and head coach Greg Gard got Brittain-Watts on campus when UW hosted Akron on Sept. 10.

"The visit was great," Brittain-Watts said. "I took a tour around the athletic facility and saw the coaching staff. We talked to them and went to the football game.

"They went over the kind of atmosphere and vision they have going there, which caught my eye. It's all family-orientated and hard work produces wins. They gave off good vibes and just told me to keep working hard and that they'd love to continue to recruit me."

Still early in the process, Brittain-Watts, who competes with Spiece Indy Heat on the AAU circuit, is also hearing from Purdue, which will host him this weekend, as well as New Mexico, which recently attended an open gym. Wisconsin, though, has made a very good initial impression.

"It's early, but I definitely could see myself at Wisconsin," Brittain-Watts said. "One thing that stood out is how common their culture there is to Culver. They are very caring about the whole person and perfecting the whole person on and off the court.

"Wisconsin gave off good vibes and they have a good program up there. They also have my area of interest, sports medicine, which is a plus, and mom and dad liked it also."
