Walt McGrory had scholarship offers from Brown, Drake, Furman, Maine and South Dakota State, but an opportunity to play in the Big Ten was too much to pass on.
Monday evening, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound shooting guard from Edina High School in Minnesota accepted a preferred walk-on offer from Greg Gard and the Wisconsin Badgers.
McGrory, who averaged 23 points, eight rebounds and six assists per game as a senior, was a four-time all-conference selection at Edina. His 2,126 career points are also No. 1 in the school's history.
McGrory will join scholarship signees Nathan Reuvers, Kobe King and Brad Davison in Wisconsin's 2017 class.
