"I love it here, it's like a place where you know you can fit in with the people and the atmosphere here," Pennamon told BadgerBlitz.com. "I love the players and coaches here, they're awesome.
"The student section is like no other, they bring a lot of excitement to the place. This is a perfect fit for me, I'm just ready to rock and roll."
A 5-foot-11, 187-pound senior from University Christian School in Jacksonville, Fla., Pennamon, a two-way standout, chose the Badgers over offers from Colorado, Georgia Tech, Rutgers and Utah, among others. He is the 19th known member of UW's 2016 recruiting class.
Pennamon, who was recruited by defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, was on campus with fellow Florida natives Dallas Jeanty, Carlos Becker and K.J. Sails.
"The coaches said that they really like me in their defensive secondary and I can contribute really fast in the system," Pennamon said. "They were really excited when I committed."
After he announced his commitment via social media, Pennamon tweeted "my recruiting process is still open, I haven't shut it down yet."
"I plan on going to some visits," Pennamon said when asked about being open to other schools. "But right now I'm locked on to Wisconsin."
The Badgers are expected to take three scholarship cornerbacks in the current cycle. Three corners on the current roster -- Darius Hillary, T.J. Reynard and Terrance Floyd -- are set to graduate at the end of the 2015 season.
