Kentucky commit Marvin Alexander excited about first Big Ten offer

Marvin Alexander isn't wavering from his commitment to Kentucky, a pledge he made in February to the SEC program.

But the 6-foot-2, 175-pound wide receiver from Chaminade Madonna High School in Florida is excited about his first offer from a Big Ten school, which came Tuesday from Wisconsin.

"I'm 110 percent committed to Kentucky right now," Alexander told BadgerBlitz.com. "I will listen to other schools, of course, but I'm all-in with UK as of right now."

The Badgers, led by position coach Inoke Breckterfield, are hoping to change Alexander's mind this summer.

"I remember Wisconsin coming out to one of our spring practices earlier this month, so I was hoping to hear from them," Alexander said. "So today (Tuesday) I heard from my coach that they offered.

"I haven't spoken to anyone from the staff yet but I hope to soon. I'm interested in Wisconsin. They are my first Big Ten offer, so I'm really happy about that."

In addition to UW, Alexander said Syracuse, South Florida and Temple have kept in contact this spring. The only visit he has planned so far this summer is to Lexington.

"I'm going to Kentucky, for sure, but other visits are still in the works," Alexander said. "With Kentucky, I just bought into what the coaches were saying and they showed love like a family."

Wisconsin is still looking for its first projected receiver in the current 10-man recruiting class.
