Johnson commits during visit
It didn't take long for Wisconsin to find a replacement for
Craig Watts in the 2016 recruiting class.
Less than two weeks after the four-star safety stepped away from his the pledge to the Badgers, the coaching staff picked up a commitment from
Patrick Johnson during an unofficial visit to campus this week.

July 22, 2015Johnson, a 6-foot, 180-pound prospect from Potomac (MD) Bullis School, recently narrowed his focus to three schools -- Wisconsin, Pittsburgh and Georgia -- but had 20-plus scholarship offers with Iowa, Michigan State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rutgers and Wake Forest, among others, all in the mix.
With the addition of Johnson, who was recruited by Maryland native and first-year defensive backs coach
Daronte Jones, the Badgers now have 16 commitments in the current cycle.

From Rivals.com recruiting analyst Adam Friedman:
Johnson is a great two-way player, but excelled on defense Thursday evening. From his safety position, Johnson did a good job of quickly coming up on balls thrown in front of him and turning and running when he needed to. On one play when the defense was backed up in their own end zone, Johnson baited the quarterback into throwing an interception in the corner of the end zone and made sure to get his feet down inbounds.
