It was likely only a matter of time before Jalen Johnson became a household name on the college basketball recruiting front.
This month during the live evaluation period, the rising sophomore from Sun Prairie High School in Wisconsin went from an in-state standout with offers from the Badgers and Golden Eagles to a blue-blood target. Duke, Kansas and North Carolina, among others, are all gathering information on the 6-foot-6 wing, who averaged just under 15 points per game as a freshman last winer.
"It's kind of surreal," Johnson told BadgerBlitz.com at the NY2LA Sports Summer Jam. "I've always dreamed about it; watching the North Carolina versus Duke games on TV, it's kind of crazy to actually have them looking at you.
"It's really humbling and it's a blessing to have those coaches reach out to my coaches."
