In-state safety Trent Ingalls and Wisconsin part ways

Wisconsin and in-state safety Trent Ingalls, the No. 2 pledge in the Badgers' 2018 class, have parted ways, according to a source.

At 6-foot-2, 180-pound rising senior from Menasha High School, Ingalls ran a 4.55-second 40-yard dash at UW's summer camp in 2016. He committed in October of that same year.

The same source indicated that Ingalls, who recorded 69 tackles and three interceptions, would likely not play football beyond his senior season.

"When he steps on the field, he's the best athlete out there," head coach Jamie Korth told BadgerBlitz.com at the time of Ingalls' commitment. "He ran a 4.47 (second 40-yard dash) at a combine and then followed that up with a 4.5 at Wisconsin's camp. He's long and he pads up well. He's a smart kid and a good teammate."

Ingalls was not in attendance at Wisconsin's spring game or summer camp with other members of the current class earlier this year.

The Badgers now have 18 commitments in 2018. Michigan athlete Reggie Pearson is now the lone projected safety pledge in UW's senior class.
