Floyd makes second trip

It took a trip from Florida to Wisconsin to secure a commitment from 2011 cornerback Terrance Floyd this past July.

This weekend, the 5-foot-10, 188-pound prospect made his second stop in Madison for an official visit and an opportunity to watch his future team knock off the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes Saturday at Camp Randall.

"Everything was just great," Floyd told BadgerBlitz.com. "I'm just honored to have the opportunity to take part in a game like this and then next year be on the same field as these guys. The Ohio State and Wisconsin game was just amazing - everything about it. It was probably one of the most exciting and enjoyable experiences I've had."

Floyd, Wisconsin's first out-of-state verbal in the 2011 class, had a chance to catch up with a childhood friend from South Florida during his stay.

"My host was Antonio Fenelus and I've known him from high school," Floyd said. "It was cool to reunite with him because we actually knew each other way before high school. After the game we just hung out a little bit and went around the town. It was a good time. Antonio was pretty pumped up after the game and it great to see the love he got around town."

With a handful of Florida prospects in town for official visits - Makinton Dorleant, Jacoby Brissett, Nick O'Leary and Curt Maggitt - Floyd was able do a little recruiting for the Badgers with players from his region.

"I can't really remember a lot of names because there were just so kids in town for the game," he said. "I know the uncommitted kids that were there seemed pretty excited with the win and everything. The Dwyer (High School) boys were there and that was pretty good to see. They are good players and good guys."

It's been rumored that Miami has been pursuing Floyd during a very successful senior year at Santaluces High School. Floyd, however, squashed any worry Badger fans had in losing the three-star prospect.

"I don't really get a lot of letters now that I'm committed, but Miami has sent some stuff over," said Floyd, who also had offers from Bowling Green, FIU and UCF. "But I'm 100 percent committed to Wisconsin and yesterday was a good reason why."

Floyd, Dorleant and Bennett Okotcha are the projected cornerback prospects currently committed in UW's current recruiting class.
