After picking up an offer from Wisconsin on Saturday during an unofficial visit, in-state defensive lineman Tyler Biadasz committed to the Badgers less than 48 hours later.
"I took in a lot on Saturday and I saw a lot of great things and was really overjoyed during the visit," Biadasz told BadgerBlitz.com. "I wanted to take 24 hours to sleep on the offer and it just felt like the best fit for me.
"It's a goal that I've had since my freshman year to play for the Badgers and I can't believe that I now have that opportunity. I feel like dreams do come true and it truly is a blessing for me."
The 6-foot-4, 270-pound senior-to-be from Amherst earned his scholarship at Wisconsin's first camp of the summer earlier this month. He performed well for position coach Inoke Breckterfield and against a good crop of offensive linemen who were also on campus.
"The coaches said I was the best lineman at camp and that I dominated in the afternoon," Biadasz said. "I broke down people physically and mentally, and I grinded them down. Coach Paul Chryst also said he's heard really good things about me at school and he said they want more kids like me. They think I'll be a great fit for them and coach Chryst seems like a great person to play for."
Biadasz is the sixth member of UW's 2016 class, joining quarterback Kare' Lyles, running back Antonio Williams, linebacker Mason Stokke, safety Seth Currens and defensive end Luke Benzschawel.
"It feels great to be able to go to my top school," Biadasz said. "I don't think it really sank in when I was offered, but when I got home my brother said to me, "you got a full-ride from Wisconsin, that's unbelievable,' " said Biadasz, who camped at Minnesota on Sunday. "When I woke up on Sunday I think I knew what I wanted to do. It's a decision I wanted to make the whole time but I just wanted to sleep on it."
A projected defensive tackle, Biadasz recorded 77 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, five sacks, two forced fumbles and three recoveries for the Division 5 state runner-up Falcons as a junior. He chose UW over offers from Illinois State, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois and Western Michigan.
