The Wisconsin Badgers added three-star nose guard Bryson Williams to their 2018 recruiting class Tuesday and filled what is likely the final opening on the defensive line in this cycle. Here's what Williams' commitment means for head coach Paul Chryst moving forward.

Skillset

At 6-foot-2 and 293 pounds, Bryson Williams' tape shows a good amount of athletic ability for a defensive tackle. The three-star prospect has a solid burst off the ball and is quick and agile enough to get to the quarterback - he had 3.5 sacks last fall.

I actually bumped into Williams at Wisconsin's advanced basketball camp last month while he was in Madison for an unofficial visit. He looked much thicker/stout than he does on his junior tape, with huge hips, thighs and calves.

From a contact in Nebraska who is connected in the high school football scene:

"Nine out of 10 years Nebraska offers this guy. The small class really hurt and the move to the 3-4 as well. He (Williams) wasn't a fit to play nose, size-wise, and not tall enough for defensive end in (Bob) Diaco's 3-4. Has a great motor, though. Plays as hard as anyone in the state. Has an Aaron Donald-type make-up."

Speaking of Donald, a first-round pick of the St. Louis Rams in 2014, he was coached at Pittsburgh by current Wisconsin assistant Inoke Breckterfield, who identified and offered Williams in June. Guessing Breckterfield has some similarities between the two.
