Coach: Nolan Winter has 'tons of potential to be a great Big Ten player'
John Oxton, the head basketball coach at Lakeville North High School, admits that he's a Minnesota guy.
But over the last few years, two of the best players from his program - Nathan Reuvers and Tyler Wahl - crossed state borders in order to play at Wisconsin. A third, three-star forward Nolan Winter, announced his commitment to the Badgers on Friday afternoon.
"It's a little bit of a different position for me," Oxton told BadgerBlitz.com. "I'm a Minnesota person and I love the University of Minnesota. But I know that my players have had a great experience at the University of Wisconsin as well, so I have a lot of respect for that program, along with the culture and the wining tradition.
"If that's where Nolan feels the best place is for him, I'm 100 percent behind him. I'm excited for him and very excited to watch his future."
