Chris Orr will miss rest of 2016 with ACL injury

MADISON, Wis. - Sophomore inside linebacker Chris Orr will miss the rest of the 2016 season with an ACL injury, according to a release from UW.

Chris Orr (Dan Sanger)

Orr played just one defensive snap in Wisconsin's 16-14 win over then-No. 5 LSU, and had to be helped off the field after he was injured in the pileup after Leonard Fournette rushed for a 3-yard gain.

Orr played in 10 games for the Badgers as a true freshman in 2015, and was penciled in as a key starter for Wisconsin's defense after finishing the year with 46 total tackles (including two tackles for loss), two pass deflections and one fumble recovery.

Walk-on sophomore linebacker Ryan Connelly played well in place of Orr against the Tigers, though, and finished the game with seven tackles. The Badgers could also get sophomore linebacker T.J. Edwards back from a foot injury this week, but Connelly is listed as the projected starter on the team's official depth chart.
