Buh officially named LBs coach

MADISON - As far as offseason's are concerned, it's essentially inconceivable to think of one that had Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema as busy as the one he's currently mired in.
His team featured a Heisman finalist in Montee Ball, he's lost six assistant coaches and seems to have a couple of highly touted recruits wavering on their previous decision to commit to play for the Badgers.

Having already brought in a new offensive coordinator (Matt Canada), a new wide receivers coach (Zach Azzanni) and an offensive line coach (Mike Markuson) last week, Bielema can now say he's added to his departed defensive staff.
Andy Buh, most recently defensive coordinator at Nevada, has accepted the offer to become Wisconsin's linebackers coach, replacing Dave Huxtable who recently accepted the defensive coordinator's post on Paul Chryst's first staff at Pittsburgh.
"I've known about Andy for several years and had the chance to visit with him at the coaches' convention in San Antonio recently," Bielema said via UW press release. "I came away very impressed with his teaching ability, his passion and his personality. He brings tremendous experience, being a coordinator at both Nevada and Stanford, and is a dynamic personality.
"With his wife being an Indiana native, this is a chance for his family to get back to the Midwest."
Buh enters the Badger program with a pretty impressive two-year track record of success at Nevada. The Wolf Pack finished 20-7 over the past two seasons, most recently capping a 7-6 season with a near-upset of No. 22 ranked Southern Mississippi in the Hawaii Bowl.
Nevada finished the season ranked 22nd nationally in pass efficiency defense, led by first-team All-American defensive tackle Brett Roy. It also improved vastly under Buh's tutelage.
In 2008 and 2009, the two seasons prior to Buh's arrival, Nevada ranked 91st and 96th nationally in total defense. During the two seasons under Buh, Nevada ranked 54th and 52nd nationally.
"Today is a great day," Buh said via the same press release. "I'm very excited and enthused about joining the University of Wisconsin's football staff. I'm thrilled with this opportunity and can't wait to hit the field running."
The hire marks the fourth of the offseason for Bielema as he tries to replace Chryst, Huxtable, Bob Bostad, Joe Rudolph (all with Pitt), DeMontie Cross (Kansas) and DelVaughn Alexander (Arizona State).
Chris Ash and Charlie Partridge were the only returning defensive coaches on staff prior to the hiring of Buh.
"Coach Bielema has given me the opportunity of a lifetime and I'm humbled to be a part of his staff," Buh said. "I look forward to every part of this experience and can't wait to get working."
Buh played as a linebacker at Nevada for two years in the early 1990's. He started his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant (1997-98) before becoming defensive backs/special teams coach at his alma mater.
From there Buh spent two years at Cal (2000-01, defensive administrative assistant) before taking the linebackers coach job at San Diego State (2002-05). He then spent the 2006 season at Fresno State (graduate assistant) before coaching linebackers at Stanford during the 2007 campaign. Buh was promoted to co-defensive coordinator for the Cardinal from 2008-09.
He's coached in the 2009 Sun Bowl and 2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl and Hawaii Bowl. He has a wife, Kelly, and son, Luke.
