Bryson Williams will sign with Wisconsin on Wednesday

Bryson Williams knows where he ink his name next Wednesday during college football's early signing period.

Thursday evening, the 2018 defensive tackle, who recently picked up a scholarship from Nebraska, announced his intentions to honor his pledge to Wisconsin. The Lincoln (NE) Southeast standout was considering joining Scott Frost's first recruiting class for the Cornhuskers since picking up an offer less than two weeks ago.

A three-star prospect, Williams took his official visit to Wisconsin last weekend. He was one of 16 committed athletes in the 2018 class who were on campus at the time.

"The official visit to Wisconsin was great - it was awesome," Williams told BadgerBlitz.com. "It was great getting to spend the weekend with all the other commits and going to the banquet. We saw a practice and ate all the breakfasts, lunches and dinners with everyone. I got to speak with an academic advisor and we laid my whole path out. We spent a lot of time with the coaches and it was really just a great visit.

"Those guys (in the 2018 class) are just awesome. We've all talked a lot in the group chat, but getting to be with them and spend the weekend with those guys was just great. We have a great class coming in and they are a great group of guys."

A 6-foot-2, 293-pound tackle, Williams, whose lead contact on the staff is position coach Inoke Breckterfield, plans to enroll early at UW and could be in line for playing time as a true freshman. Olive Sagapolu is expected to be back for his senior season with Garret Rand, though a bit undersized, serving as his back-up.

Wisconsin currently has 19 commitments in the current cycle.
