MADISON - Wisconsin forward Jarrod Uthoff asked for and was granted his release from the Badger Basketball program, according to a report from ESPNWisconsin.com.

Uthoff redshirted the 2011-2012 season, but will have to sit out for a year if he decides to transfer to another Division One institution. Uthoff came to Wisconsin as a three-star prospect out of Iowa, and was rated 149th nationally by Rivals.com.
With Uthoff's transfer, obtaining a commitment from Sheldon Jeter becomes even more important for the Badgers' 2012 class. The Badgers return Jared Berggren, Ryan Evans, and Mike Bruesewitz to the frontcourt for next year, but Uthoff seemed to be in a position to contribute over the next few years.
