Badger Watch 2: Offensive line

With summer camps over and more commitments in place, Wisconsin has a better idea of what its 2014 recruiting class will look like. Over the next two weeks, BadgerBlitz.com will reanalyze UW's recruiting efforts with a position-by-position breakdown of targets to see how the Badgers will fill their 2014 recruiting class.

Today, we reexamine the offensive linemen.
1. Last update: Badger Watch: Offensive linemen (5/17/13)
2. What's happened since May?
The biggest news at the position this summer was the commitment of Genoa, Ohio, offensive lineman Michael Deiter. Deiter's addition brings Wisconsin's line commit total to three, as he joins in-state recruits George Panos and Jaden Gault.
"I chose UW because I'm comfortable with the coaches," Deiter told BadgerBlitz.com. "I like the football tradition and the offensive line tradition, and UW feels like home to me.
"They coaches were fired up when I told them. It feels great to make my decision. Now I can get back to work knowing what the future looks like."
Conversely, Jarrett LaRubbio (Kentucky), Mike Grimm (Pittsburgh), Jermaine Eluemunor (undecided) and Viane Talamaivao (Alabama), among others, have either committed elsewhere or left the Badgers out of their top group.
Finally, Virginia Tech pledge Billy Ray Mitchell picked up a late offer, but the three-star prospect remains committed to the Hokies.
3. What happens next?
There are still some relatively big names remaining on Wisconsin's board. Damien Mama will be on campus this weekend along with five-star running back Joe Mixon, Jon Bezney has continued to show interest in the Badgers and Jarell Broxton just put Wisconsin in his top two, along with Baylor. He will be on campus in the fall.
Also look for Kaleb McGary to visit Wisconsin as soon as this weekend, as his AAU basketball team will be in Mequon for a basketball tournament.
4. Class Prediction: The Badgers have only extended seven offensive line offers to uncommitted prospects, and while they are in the top group for four, I'm not comfortable projecting any to Wisconsin just yet.
Look for the Badgers to still try and sign five linemen in this class.
