A 6-foot-3, 300-pound junior from Scottsdale (AZ) Saguaro, Lyles is the first pledge for UW in the junior class. The brother of 2016 commit Kare' Lyles, Kayden Lyles chose Wisconsin over scholarships from Oklahoma, USC, Michigan, Ohio State and Notre Dame, among others.
"It has a big impact with Kare' going to Wisconsin because he's going to want me to go there," Kayden told Rivals.com in a past interview. "Our dad went there, so he's going to want us to go as well, but I've been open to every school and I'm not set on anything yet."
Lyles, a Rivals100 member, was credited with 28 total tackles, including five for a loss, and a caused fumble while facing constant double teams as a sophomore last season.
From Rivals.com recruiting analyst Rob Cassidy: The wave of early recruiting interest that continues to wash over Lyles is a product of his massive 300-pound frame and his upside. That said, he is developing nicely. It's clear that Lyles is getting stronger in the upper body. He drew a few triple teams and was double-teamed on nearly every snap. That said, he still almost always managed to get a push. Ideally, you'd like to see the young lineman become more agile but he seems to be coming along. He is on pace to be a truly elite prospect by this time next year.
