The Sweet 16 ranking is based on a combination of three factors: position need, interest in Wisconsin and talent level.

Note: All quotes used in this report are from the Rivals.com network.

No. 16: Inside linebacker Sam Pilof

Offers: Iowa State, Penn State, Rutgers and Wisconsin

Previous Rank: 12

The Word: Sam Pilof was scheduled to commit this winter but pushed that decision back. At that time, Wisconsin was considered the favorite to land the in-state linebacker from Middleton High School. Pilof projects on the inside for the Badgers.

No. 15: Edge Kellen Lindstrom

Offers: Arkansas, California, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Purdue, Stanford, Tennessee and Wisconsin, among others

Previous Rank: 10

The Word: Kellen Lindstrom, a newly-minted four-star prospect, is Wisconsin's top target from Missouri in the 2024 class. The standout from Glendale High School visited most recently for a Badgers' junior day in late January. Rivals.com National Recruiting Analyst Clint Cosgrove put in a FutureCast prediction for Lindstrom to land at UW in February.

No. 14: Tailback Darrion Dupree

Offers: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Wisconsin, among others

Previous Rank: 14

The Word: It will be interesting to see how Gino Guidugli's move from Wisconsin to Notre Dame affects Darrion Dupree's recruitment. The Badgers and Irish were already believed to be top contenders for the Rivals250 back from Chicago. Dupree is scheduled to be back in Madison on April 15.

No. 13: Outside linebacker Thomas Heiberger
