Wisconsin is expected to ink four prospects from inside the state - CJ Goetz, Mason Platter, Boyd Dietzen and Cormac Sampson - next Wednesday during college football's early signing period.

With that in mind, BadgerBlitz.com takes a look ahead at who could be in the same position a year from now in the 2019 cycle.

Note: Prospects are listed in no specific order.

No. 1: Linebacker Leo Chenal (Grantsburg)

In the mix: Committed to Wisconsin

The word: In-state linebacker Leo Chenal was Wisconsin's first commitment in the 2019 class. His older brother, John Chenal, is also committed to the Badgers as a preferred walk-on in the 2018 class.

"With Leo, Wisconsin really liked what they saw firsthand at camp and they were also impressed with how he did at a combine this year," head coach Adam Hale at Granstburg told BadgerBlitz.com. "When they put those performances together after taking a look at some of his junior tape, they were pretty excited about him and they jumped on the offer."

No. 2: Athlete Da'Shaun Brown (St. Catherine's)

In the mix: Offers from Wisconsin and Iowa; interest from Notre Dame, Minnesota and Michigan State, among others

The word: Three-star junior Da'Shaun Brown is arguably the most explosive athlete in the state. He plays quarterback in high school but likely projects to either receiver or cornerback at the next level. Brown finished his junior year with 1,404 yards passing and 17 touchdowns through the air to along with 1,210 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns on the ground. He also had 16 tackles and one interception on defense.

No. 3: Tailback Julius Davis (Menomonee Falls)

In the mix: Committed to Wisconsin

The word: Julius Davis, who rushed for 1,762 yards and 17 touchdowns in 10 games this fall, committed to the Badgers last month.

"He's a physical back - a real powerful kid," Falls head coach Dan Lutz told BadgerBlitz.com. "He runs behind his pads and he'd rather run through you then around you. It's something that we may need to work on a bit with him, but his greatest strength is that he's so powerful. He can make things happen and I've seen him make long runs where he takes on five or six or seven guys all in one play.

"He also goes horizontal and vertical very quickly. I've never had a back that can jump-cut and get vertical as fast as he can. The Wisconsin coaches like the way he runs behind his pads. They love that he's a power back and that he runs a lot of power and zone at our school. That's what Wisconsin does, so he's a natural fit for them."
