MADISON, Wis. - Wisconsin senior running back Corey Clement and junior left taklce Ryan Ramczyk were named first team All-Big Ten on Tuesday - with Ramczyk a unanimous selection by both coaches and media and Clement a first-team selection by the league's coaches.
Clement finished the regular season third in the Big Ten with 1,140 rushing yards on 271 carries, and led the league in averaging 24.6 carries per game. Clement is also third in the Big Ten with 13 rushing touchdowns this year.
Clement's strong performance came after a disappointing junior year - both on and off the field - where he played in just four games and rushed for 221 yards and four touchdowns. He missed one game with an injury this year, but Clement rushed for at least 100 yards in six of Wisconsin's last seven games, and has seven 100-yard games this season.
Ramczyk earned first-team honors in his first year as a starter for UW, after he transferred to Wisconsin from Division III UW-Stevens Point. Ramczyk started in all 12 games for the Badgers this season, and played well enough to where he could declare early for the NFL draft.
In addition to Clement and Ramczyk the Badgers had a few other offensive players earn All-Big Ten honors. Sophomore right guard Beau Benschawel and junior tight end Troy Fumagalli were second team selections by the coaches and third team selections by the media, and center Michael Deiter and wide receiver Jazz Peavy were honorable mentions.
The No. 6 Badgers will square off against No. 7 Penn State and the Big Ten's Offensive Player of the Year, running back Saquon Barkley, on Saturday with the winner potentially advancing to either the College Football Playoff or the Rose Bowl Game.
