The Wisconsin Badgers added three-star quarterback Ben Bryant to their 2018 recruiting class Wednesday, filling a key position for head coach Paul Chryst and company. Here's what Bryant's commitment means moving forward.

Skillset

At 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, Bryant's biggest weapon at this point in his career is arm strength, according to Lyons (IL) High School head coach Kurt Weinberg

"It starts with his arm because he can make all the throws," Weinberg told BadgerBlitz.com. "He has the strongest arm that I have come across in 23 years. He has a very quick release and he gets the ball there in a hurry, but he's also developed quite a bit of touch over the last year or so.

"He's a very intelligent player and got pretty good at taking what the defense is giving him this past year. All the physical tools are there and he's got the work ethic and intelligence to thrive at that level."

As a junior, Bryant connected on 118 of 201 his pass attempts for 1,847 yards and 20 touchdowns. The three-star prospect had just four interceptions in leading the Lions to an 8-3 record this fall.

Watching his film, Bryant also has the ability to make (and extend) plays with his feet. In that regard, he's probably more similar to 2017 commit Jack Coan than he is to current starter Alex Hornibrook.
