Wisconsin legacy L.O. Johnson takes in win at Camp Randall

L.O. Johnson, a junior athlete from Waunakee High School, made the short trip to Wisconsin on Saturday and was in attendance for the Badgers' blowout win over Akron.

"Yesterday's visit was an overall great experience," Johnson told BadgerBlitz.com. "We walked through the weight room and we also had field access while the Badgers were warming up. Being that close to the game was awesome.

"I was able to see the speed of the game at the college level. After the game, Javian Dayne and I went to the locker room and met up with some of the former Waunakee players like Leo Musso and Troy Laufenberg. We talked about their experience with the team and how much they like it. Overall, the unofficial visit went amazing; Wisconsin has a great weight room and facilities to serve the student athlete."

A 5-foot-11, 195-pound athlete, Johnson is the son of Lawrence Johnson, a former UW cornerback and second-round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in 1979.

"It is very exciting to get recruited by the same school my father attended," L.O. Johnson said. "When I went on the visit earlier this summer, the hallway going into the locker room has a board of all the current and former players in the NFL under what team they have played for and it was cool seeing my dad's name on the board for Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills.

"They also had all of the All-Americans on display and it was humbling to be able to see my dad on the both of those lists. He has a lot of memories and stories he shares about the school. Anything from winning the Big Ten in track and field to just funny football practice stories."
