Wisconsin LB likes Badgers
Being from Wisconsin, Kaukauna linebacker Mark Berghuis has a natural interest in the Badgers. Last season the staff invited the 6-foot-3, 211 pounder to the UW-Minnesota game and he hoped that would ignite a recruiting flame that would merit him more contact from the Badgers staff.
However, to this point Berghuis hasn't seen his stock rise in the eyes of the Badgers, but some other schools have taken notice, specifically Indiana and Western Michigan.

"They have not called or anything like that," Berghuis said of the UW staff. "A coach stopped by the school, Mr. Murphy."
So far this summer Berghuis has been working to get his name out there by attending camp sessions at Indiana, Western Michigan, Ball State, Northern Illinois and UW.
"Western Michigan and Indiana went really well," he said. "They really didn't know (how well I would do) until they tried me at D-end. (Indiana) said I was right at the top of their list when I left camp.
"Actually Western Michigan like the chances of me at D-end or linebacker, they figured I could do either. They said they could get me to the size of a D-end, weakside."
Berghuis said Ball State and NIU like him at linebacker.
As for his UW camp, Berghuis said he didn't do so well, and he believes that could hurt his chances of hearing from the Badgers in the future.
"I would like to hear more from them, but I didn't perform too well at the camp," he said, adding that the camp was a one-day session Monday. "I tried D-end (at the UW camp) because last year I had the same numbers as (2005 commit) O'Brien Schofield.
"Brian Murphy said just try D-end because they won't have any film of me at D-end this year."
Currently Berghuis says Indiana and Western Michigan are his favorites.
"Indiana has definitely stepped it up. I received five letters in two days (from IU)," he said. "Western Michigan called and stopped by school."
Last season Berghuis recorded 98 tackles (22 for loss), two sacks, one interception and two fumble recoveries.
