MADISON -- The last Badger to speak early Saturday evening, junior running back Jonathan Taylor sat at the podium in the media room below the McClain Center. All eyes on the Heisman Trophy candidate, a reporter asked about the defense and the unit not giving up many first downs and the speed of which the offense was able to get back on the field.

Taylor was nearly speechless.

"I mean, those guys, are -- I don't know what else to say? I don't know what else to say," Taylor said. "I said it last week. Those guys, they're playing lights out. I don't have any other words. I don't have any other words. Our defense is playing lights out.

"They're No. 1 in the nation. I don't know what else to say."

As Taylor ended his answer, he shook his head, and with good reason. Inside Camp Randall Stadium, Wisconsin's defense locked down, clamped down, shut down, scored upon Michigan State in a 38-0 victory.
