Grady ultimately chose Wisconsin over Northwestern, his father's alma mater, but he also had scholarships from Air Force, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Toledo and Virginia, among others.
Offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph served as Grady's primary contact and the two have a relationship dating back to his time at Pittsburgh.
"I got to know their coaching staff at Pitt - Coach (Paul) Chryst and Coach (Joe) Rudolph, mainly," Grady told BadgerBlitz.com in a previous interview. "Then they took the job at Wisconsin and of course they've offered at Wisconsin too. Coach Rudolph is the offensive coordinator, of course, so it has been good to get to know Coach Tibesar and Coach (Dave) Aranda, get to know the defense and get a little more involved with them."
The No. 17 prospect in Ohio's 2016 class and No. 31 outside linebacker in the country, Grady's commitment could satisfy Wisconsin's need at the position. He registered 70 tackles, including 13 for loss, and two interceptions as a junior.
