At a glance

The No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers are headed to Bloomington to take on the No. 25 Indiana Hoosiers in what could be an early season preview of a Big Ten Championship matchup later this season. The Badgers have cruised through recent opponents, achieving an eight-game winning streak with their last loss having come in late November, while the Hoosiers have dropped two in a row and are still without a conference win. Indiana has faltered since the holiday break, but expect a competitive atmosphere with rival Wisconsin coming to town.

Wisconsin Badgers

Badgers last outing –

Wisconsin has had a full weeks rest after crushing Rutgers by a 20-point margin. UW topped the Scarlet Knights in nearly every category aside from 3-point percentage. Despite the off night from downtown, the Badgers controlled the game and the pace throughout the matchup. Outside of a solid night from Nigel Hayes, Wisconsin also had a massive performance from Zak Showalter. Showalter gave the Rutgers fits all night long, scoring 18 points and nabbing three steals on defense. UW is undoubtedly one of the best teams in the nation when they can get those types of performances from their fourth, fifth and sixth man.

Nigel Hayes – 20 points, 2 assists, 6 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals

Ethan Happ – 10 points, 2 assists, 11 rebounds, 1 block, 3 steals

Bronson Koenig – 8 points, 1 assist, 1 steal

Badgers quick facts

- The Badgers have won 15 of the last 17 meetings with the hoosiers.

- Lately, the Wisconsin offense has been one of the most efficient in the country averaging 83.5 PPG and shooting 51.2 percent in their last eight games.

- The UW defense has been even more dominant, holding 10 of their 14 opponents to a season low in scoring.

Indiana Hoosiers

Hoosiers last outing

Indiana faced a tough task in their last outing when Louisville came to town. Struggling with recent turnover issues, the Hoosiers headaches continued versus the Cardinals. The Indiana offense never really got going, only scoring 27 points in the first half and 35 in the second. The Hoosiers will need to get a lot faster versus tough competition like Louisville and Wisconsin if they hope to maintain their Top 25 status. With the Badgers coming to town, the opportunity to reassert themselves in the conference and the national discussion is just a win away.
