PRE-GAME NOTES
-- (3) The Spartans were in a bit of a slump over the last few weeks while they rode out a three-game losing streak: they lost to Purdue and Illinois on the road and to Indiana at home in the Breslin Center before beating Minnesota at home on Saturday. Their only two losses before that skid came to then-No. 1 Kansas in their first game of the year and a road game at Louisville during the non-conference season.
-- (4) Even with the losing skid the Spartans are still ranked No. 4 in the country according to KenPom.com. They have the No. 6 adjusted offense and the No. 9 adjusted defense according to KenPom.com's efficiency rankings.
-- (132) The Badgers and Spartans have met 132 times since the 1949-50 season, when both teams began classifying basketball as a major or Division 1 sport. The Spartans are 74-57 in the series since then.
-- (5) Michigan State has won the last five games in this series, with Wisconsin's last win over the Spartans coming on Jan. 16, 2017. At the time it was part of a three-game winning streak for UW over MSU, their longest winning streak over the Spartans since they won four in a row between 2007-2008.
