Four-star Tyler Herro backs off his commitment to Wisconsin

In-state wing Tyler Herro, who committed to Wisconsin over one year ago, has backed away from his pledge to the Badgers.

A four-star wing in the 2018 class, Herro, from Whitnall High School, is currently ranked as the No. 38 prospect in the country.

Herro's decommitment is a huge blow for Greg Gard's 2018 recruiting class. As it stands, the Badgers now have a four-for-five commitment from center Joe Hedstrom with two full scholarships still available.

At the time of his commitment, Herro, who took his official visit to UW in September, ultimately chose Wisconsin over scholarships from Arizona, Marquette, Indiana, Florida and DePaul, among many others. He played most recently this summer with Playground Elite on the EYBL circuit.
