Couldn't be happier to say I am officially committed to play football at Winsconsin. pic.twitter.com/YWFvSvIbmK- Seth Currens (@sethc_10) May 30, 2015 "It was my first time at Wisconsin and the city is just amazing," Currens told BadgerBlitz.com. "The facilities and everything were all great. I've gotten to know coach (Joe) Rudolph really well and I knew it was the right fit for me."
A 6-foot-3, 198-pound safety from Pickerington (OH) Pickerington Central, Currens, a three-star prospect, chose UW over offers from Bowling Green, Illinois, Marshall, Miami (OH), Ohio, Robert Morris and Toledo. He joins Kare' Lyles, Antonio Williams, Luke Benzschawel and Mason Stokke as members of Wisconsin's 2016 class.
"Just the atmosphere of the place and the coaching staff really stood out. Everything just seemed to fit into place," Currens said. "They (the coaching staff) were shocked at first. It really surprised them but, yeah, they were pumped.
"I've talked to a couple of the guys who already committed. They congratulated me and stuff and everyone seems pretty cool."
Currens, who had seven interceptions and 42 tackles on defense, along with 14 catches for 220 yards and two touchdowns on offense, is expected to begin at safety but could transition into outside linebacker.
"I spent some time with the safeties coach (Daronte Jones) just going over what they do and stuff," Currens said. "They see me fitting in very well.
"I hope we can get the best class possible. I'll do anything I can to help. It feels amazing to be Badger and I couldn't be happier."
