Commitment 101: Isaac Guerendo

The Wisconsin Badgers added two-star athlete Isaac Guerendo to their 2018 recruiting class Saturday. Here's what Guerendo's commitment means for head coach Paul Chryst moving forward.

Skillset

Speed, speed and more speed. That's how Isaac Guerendo found a spot in Wisconsin's class despite extremely limited spots. At 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, the standout from Avon High School in Indiana also has intriguing size and could play receiver, corner or safety for the Badgers when he arrives on campus.

Wisconsin started to take notice when Geurendo blazed a strong 4.38-second 40-yard dash at Notre Dame's Irish Invasion last month. He has also been clocked as low as 10.68 seconds in the 100-meter dash, and the plan right now is for him to also run track at UW. Guerendo also ran the 200 in 21.72 seconds with a long jump of 24 feet and nine inches this spring.

Like Aron Cruickshank, another speedster in the Badgers' 2018 class, Guerendo brings unique versatility. Looking at the current roster, A.J. Taylor, Bradrick Shaw and Jazz Peavy likely fall in the same category, but it's clear the staff wanted to get better in that department.

As a junior, Guerendo, who just recently turned 17 years old, caught 19 passes for just under 600 yards receiving and six touchdowns.
