Goldson, a 6-2, 180-pound safety from Narbonne High School in Carson, Calif., has narrowed his list of schools down to four, including Wisconsin.

A good friend of UW freshman receiver DeAndre Kemp, he has taken a strong interest in the Badgers because of the strong recruiting pitch from Offensive Coordinator Brian White and Kemp.
Goldson’s parents also like the Badger coaching staff, having met White and Coach Barry Alvarez when the coaches were on a visit to California. His parents will play a huge role in his final decision.
The four finalists on his list are Wisconsin, Fresno State, Washington and UCLA.
At the suggestion of Kemp, Goldson will be making a trip out to Madison in the near future, and Kemp has warned his friend to be ready to work.
“He said they wake up at six in the morning, workout, eat and go to practice,” Goldson said. “I’m going to do that with him when I’m out there and see what it’s like.”
Goldson hasn’t set the official visit date to Wisconsin. A Jan. 25 trip to Fresno State is the only official trip set in stone.
Having played a little wide receiver in previous seasons, Goldson has enjoyed just playing defense this season, being able to focus on what he does best.
“I want to be the best safety that’s ever come through Narbonne,” Goldson said. “I fly to the ball. That’s what I do best.”
Goldson said he hasn’t received an official offer from Wisconsin yet, but White said a letter should be in the mail soon. He plans to major in business, and the quality of the business schools at each of his finalists will be a factor.
“I’m going to go to the school that gives me the best offer, playing time, the environment, guaranteeing me to graduate,” Goldson said.
Goldson anticipates making his decision in late December or January.
