Braster getting to know Badgers

Still in the beginning stages of his recruitment with Wisconsin, junior Nathan Braster likes what he has seen and heard early on.

Assistant coach T.J. Woods recently dropped by South Side in Fort Wayne, Ind., to check in on the 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive end.
"I have been in contact with coach Woods, the offensive line coach," Braster told BadgerBlitz.com. "I talked to them (UW) for the first time last week and all they told me was that they are very interested in me and that I will be hearing back from them some time this week.
"I haven't had that much time to get to know Wisconsin just yet, but I know they have an amazing program going on over there. I could see myself getting more interested in them later on in the recruiting process. I just need to learn about them more."
Braster has an early offer from Ball State and is hearing from a number of other high-major programs.
"I have an offer from Ball State and I'm also hearing from Iowa, Minnesota, Western Michigan, Cincinnati, Illinois, Maryland, Wisconsin, Toledo, Indiana and Purdue," Braster said. "That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
"I believe in these next couple weeks that Indiana, Western and Eastern Michigan, along with Toledo, will offer."
A few schools in the Big Ten can expect Braster to be on campus this summer for camps.
"I haven't really had the time to plan all of them out lately but the ones I know for sure are Purdue, Ohio State, Iowa and possibly Michigan State," he said.
Three schools, according to Braster, stand out a bit in his recruitment at this point.
"Probably Iowa, Northern Illinois and Ball State," he said. "I really respect the interest that they have put into me.
"I really like Ball State. I thought it was great that they gave me my first offer. If I had to rate my interest in them on a scale of 1-10, it would be about a 6.5 or 7 right now."
