Vakos was a four-time letterman at Avon High School where he connected on 260 of 261 extra point opportunities.
At kicker, Vakos is expected to compete with Nate Van Zelst and Vito Calvaruso for the starting job. Collin Hitschler, who came over with Luke Fickell from Cincinnati, is set to coordinate the unit in 2023.
Vakos, who is expected to have three years of eligibility remaining at UW, is one of nine scholarship transfer portal targets Fickell has landed for the Badgers.
