This summer, the Badgers will be divided.

That is, they'll be separated into three imaginary teams, set against each other by a BadgerBlitz.com.com Wisconsin player draft, a daily selection in which separate groups of 22 are assembled.

Over the next four weeks, BadgerBlitz.com reporters Jon McNamara, John Veldhuis and Jessi Schoville will draft Badgers, picking players one-by-one and placing them on their respective teams, trying to assemble the best 11 on offense and defense.

Then, in late July, we'll decide — based on BadgerBlitz.com.com staff and member feedback — which team would win.

Who will be selected when? How will the teams develop? What reasoning will be used?

And most importantly, do you agree with the picks? Be sure to discuss in the Badgers' Den.

Ready for the final round?

Pick No. 64: FS Patrick Johnson (Veldhuis)

I needed one more defensive back to fill out my defense, so I went with incoming safety Patrick Johnson from the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland. Johnson is an athletic prospect the Badgers were excited to pick up in their 2016 recruiting class, particularly the now-departed Daronte' Jones, who said on Signing Day that he wanted his incoming players to be vying for playing time as soon as possible.

The opportunity might not be there for Johnson this year, but he's definitely a player to watch down the road. All in all, if my defense holds together I think I've eked out a pretty good team here, with the total roster being split into three parts. I definitely wanted my squad to have an identity, and I think I managed that on the offensive end. As long as my defensive identity isn't "bend and break" I think my roster stacks up pretty well.

Pick No. 65: LG Ian Dretzka (Schoville)

With my final pick I went with Ian Dretzka, a walk-on with good size and potential at 6-foot-6 and 315 pounds. Though he may not be a name many are familiar with, Dretzka has earned his spot on the team and has managed to improve since arriving in 2015. His role is still pretty unknown but he has the capability and natural abilities to hold his own on my offensive line.

While my offensive line isn't full of big names, I think the bodies I have will do just fine with the rest of the squad I have put together around them. That said, my defense is definitely my point-of-pride and I think is the best of the three teams. I think John may have snaked the best offense, though. You can't win 'em all.

Pick No. 66: QB Kare' Lyles (McNamara)

With the final pick in the BadgerBlitz.com draft, Team McNamara selected Kare' Lyles, the last scholarship quarterback on the roster. A former three-star prospect, Lyles arrived on campus early but did not take part in spring camp due to an injury. I don't think it's a situation where his growth was stunted, but Lyles, unfortunately, missed out on a ton of valuable reps.

Lyles is expected to be healthy for fall camp, which will likely lead to a redshirt season. He is arguably the most athletic of the quarterback group in comparison to Bart Houston and Alex Hornibrook, but it will be interesting to see where his arm stacks up. My team is likely going to have to run the ball effectively to have success.
