Ask the Expert: Georgetown

Wisconsin's 74-62 win over Tennessee at the Maui Invitational in Hawaii set up a semifinal matchup with Georgetown on Tuesday, the third meeting between the two programs in as many years.

The following is a question and answer with Ron Bailey, Publisher of HoyaReport.com of the Rivals.com network.

1) What was the fanbase's reaction to the loss against Arkansas State and did Monday's win over Oregon do anything to help that?

Bailey: The loss to Arkansas State created an apoplectic response among much of the Hoya faithful. Coming on the heels of giving away a game to local rival Maryland for the second time in consecutive years, and with last year's debacle still fresh in the minds of many, the reaction was intensified. During the closing minutes, "Fire Thompson" was heard from some of the students in attendance at the on-campus gym, McDonough Arena. Early returns are the fans are happy with beating Oregon, but many still want results. One could say they have been satiated temporarily; time will only tell.
